Life is a trip.

You can choose to sleep during the trip, accumulating blurred memories of the vain dreams you had.

Or, you can choose the fatigue of wakefulness, writing down the wonders you go through and building a worldview that has value for you and others. Taking notes about your life and your work is the way to construct that worldview of value.

Do you want to be a fragile and poor professional? Never write anything. Otherwise, start note-taking. It’s not about becoming Hemingway but being aware of what happens, both in professional and working life.

The note-taking recipe at work

Never start a task before taking a note of it.

It can be a super detailed note or a short title that is meaningful to you. The goal is to keep control over the cognitive load.

The many tasks that superpose during the working day will soon overwhelm you and jam the brain. The simple gesture of first writing a note for each of those tens of tasks turns off the lethal potential…
