Learn to Learn Before Time Runs Out (Spoiler: It’s Already Running Out!)

In the Generative AI (GAI) world, you can’t afford to stop learning – if you still need a job

The word ‘learning’ evokes the schoolhood, which is a blocker for many reasons.

First, compulsory schooling occurs in those years when the value of knowledge is incomprehensible. We have more immediate priorities than building a knowledge system from six to nineteen years old.

Second, school is perceived as opposed to real life. It sounds like a childhood place. Adults believe they live in another world, the real one.

Eventually, the school has an end. No one goes to school for life — that’s the king of excuses for those who will soon lose their jobs.

Because of those biases, many are convinced that there is a time beyond which learning new skills is no longer necessary or sustainable. For them, it’s too late.
