As you can read in my bio, my professional experience doesn’t involve marketing. Well, at 49, it’s time to learn that foundational skill!

If you aren’t a marketer, we start the same. We might have some blurred ideas and pre-judgments about marketing. Let’s get rid of that. Let’s learn the foundations of marketing and apply them in real life.

First, study

Study what? A book.

How do I select it? I asked ChatGPT for the most-rated books on marketing. I chose ‘This is marketing’ by Seth Godin (nonaffiliated link) among them.

Let’s start by taking notes per chapter.

In this article, I study the first eight chapters.
