About opinions as broad statements, you're right. To some extent, any broad statement is an opinion because it's broad.
Yet, please tell me: what's the technology's purpose?
I don't mean the purpose of using a specific technology: there's a purpose here. I mean the purpose for which technology exists. Please refer to the philosopher Emanuele Severino to understand this topic deeply.
On the other hand, since the purpose defines the direction toward moving, no purpose means no direction as a logical consequence.
I'm not saying I'm right, I hope to propose a way to take a step forward toward the comprehension of humans.
