I agree that "A manual is no excuse for a poorly designed product," but it happens.

"Just because the iPhone had a fantastic design does not mean that users could figure out all of its features without help. They just searched the web." That's true, but people used to smartphones can discover most iPhone features by themselves just by exploring it without help from the web, starting from day one in 2007.
