A Digital-Only Productivity Setup May Seem Ideal, But It Often Falls Short in Practice

In many tasks, pen and paper still win because we are human, which is something we tend to forget

We've all gotten drunk on technology in recent decades, and I'm the first.

Alcohol makes us simplify everything thanks to a pleasant state of euphoria. Something very similar has happened with technology since the late 2000s. We are all aligned to a vision: digital devices will replace everything.

Just think of Apple Vision Pro, which replaces the world's experience through the eyes with a digital augmented representation. It's brilliant, even beneficial, but would you wear it as a way of life?

Technology produces opportunities but collapses into exaggeration when it tries to get everything.

The everything rule

'Everything' and 'all' are alert words. They reveal oversimplifications.

That's the everything rule. It's paramount to remember it because, as human beings, limits define us. When we say 'everything' and 'all,' we try to forget limits and fail.
